Head Coach - Dave Ferris
Dave began his rowing career as a competitive Masters rower. "Ferris," as nicknamed by his rowers, has coached junior women at both the novice and varsity levels. In Fall 2012, his novice women took 4th place at Head of the Hooch, following a season of medaling in every regatta rowed. In Fall 2013, the novice women improved to second place at Head of the Hooch, and in Spring 2014, his varsity lightweight women qualified for and competed in a 4+ at U.S. Rowing Youth Nationals. The lightweight women went on to qualify and compete in a varsity lightweight 8+ at the 2017 U.S. Rowing Youth Nationals, where they finished 16th among other lightweight 8+'s from across the country. Many of his graduating rowers have gone on to compete at the collegiate level in DI, DII and DIII programs, and ACRC rowers are recruited by top competitors in each of these NCAA divisions.
"My coaching philosophy is to strive for consistent improvement and success through attainable goals. Rowers who see improvement in themselves and the team come to love the sport and their teammates, which leads to success on the water."
